Eric Sun
Eric is a 3rd year Biology major from Rowland Heights, CA. He realized his passion for dentistry after shadowing dentists back in his hometown. He joined CDO to connect with a community of individuals that share his passion for dentistry. On campus, Eric is also apart of Alpha Phi Omega. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, binge-watching shows, or going on spontaneous adventures around LA.
James smooth
James Smooth is a 3rd year Psychobiology major from Sacramento, California. He is excited to be apart of CDO because he will be around other pre-dental students who will motivate him to be better. He hopes to open his own dental office named Smooth Smiles to serve underrepresented communities. On his free time, he likes to play basketball, make music or play with his dog Scooby. He also serves as president of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
Justin Shafa
Justin is a 2nd year Psychobiology major born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Passionate about making a difference, he joined CDO in search of gaining clinical exposure and contributing dental services to underrepresented communities. He stays involved on campus by immersing himself in dental research at the UCLA School of Dentistry as well as leading organizations such as PDSOP and the Jewish Pre-Health Society. When he’s not hitting the books, you can find him mixing beats at live venues, finding LA’s most unique culinary experiences, and staying active outdoors.
Donya Moshir Abadi
Donya is a 3rd year Neuroscience major from San Jose, CA but born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She joined CDO because she wanted to connect with other pre-dental students who share her passion in helping underserved communities. She stays involved as she tutors for Students Organize for Syria and participates in other pre-dental clubs like PDSOP. She is also involved in the Iranian Student Association. In her free time, Donya loves to go to the gym, spend time with friends and family, and go shopping!
Melina Reyes
Melina is a 2nd year Biology major from Orange County. She is excited to be part of the amazing network of support that CDO is. Gaining clinical experience alongside CDO’s passionate members while making a positive impact in underrepresented communities is what she looks forward to most. On campus, she is a member of the PDSOP and SUAT dental clubs. Melina also works for UCLA Recreation and serves on the John Wooden Student Board of Governors. In her free time she likes to play basketball, practice yoga, go to concerts, and travel with friends and family!
CHANCE LEE
Chance is a 3rd year Biology major with a Chemistry minor from Palos Verdes, California. He works as a research assistant within the UCLA School of Dentistry and volunteers through various outreach programs to help serve the underserved communities found in Los Angeles. In addition, he shadowed clinics specializing in pediatric and cosmetic dental care over the previous summers. He joined CDO in order to meet with like-minded peers striving to become dentists themselves and to further his clinical experience through the opportunities CDO offers. Outside of school, he enjoys playing basketball, reading on the grass near Janss steps, and exploring unique eats in Los Angeles.
Steven Zhang
Steven is a 3rd year Psychobiology major born and raised in Walnut, CA. He stays involved on campus through Alpha Epsilon Delta as a certified BLS/First Aid instructor and tutor for Academic Tutoring Program. He joined CDO to gain clinical exposure while also providing help for communities in the greater Los Angeles area. Steven enjoys pursuing hobbies of cars, anime, poker, and basketball.
Lana AlashKar
Lana is a 2nd year Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology major from Lebanon and Syria. She is an active member in the international student center here at UCLA as an ambassador and also works closely with the USAC ISR office. She joined CDO because it would allow her to get a more hands-on experience in the dental field while getting to know more motivated and passionate pre-dental students! In her free time, she enjoys photography and watching all kinds of movies.
Mikayla Nazarian
Mikayla is a 1st year Biology major from Granada Hills, CA. She joined CDO to have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, while also providing underserved members of the Los Angeles community with inclusive access to quality health care. On campus, she is a part of the Students United for America's Toothfairy and outside of dentistry, she coaches field hockey and volunteers for her local Boy's and Girl's Club. In her free time, she loves going to concerts across LA, hiking by the beach, and solving crossword puzzles.
Julianna HO
Julianna is a 2nd year Psychobiology major from San Ramon, CA. She is most excited to get closer to all of the A10s and the rest of CDO. She chose CDO because she wanted to be a part of a tight-knit dental community and gain hands on experience! She stays involved on campus through the Pre-Dental Student Outreach Program, American Cancer Society, and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and going shopping.
Jayden Tan
Jayden is a 3rd year Public Health major from San Bruno, CA. He looks forward to working with a group of dedicated pre-dental students and gaining invaluable dental experience through serving the greater Los Angeles community. He stays involved through the Pediatric AIDS Coalition, Bruin Ambassador Program, Cub Tours, and SUAT. In his free time, he likes to go thrifting, stroll around Farmer's and Flea Markets, and try new boba shops!
